Florianópolis é uma cidade linda, que fica em uma ilha cheia de mirantes, por onde você pode observar a natureza de um ponto de vista privilegiado.
Ela possui em torno de 30 praias, mas ao contrário do nordeste do Brasil onde as águas são mornas, as praias do sul são bem geladas, ideal para banhar-se no verão, mas há quem aproveite em outras estações do ano. Além disso, os pontos turísticos como o Forte São José que também servia para proteger o território brasileiro, possui uma vista deslumbrante e retrata um pouco da história do Brasil, possui grandes muralhas, uma capela, a casa do comandante, podendo ser acessado por terra. Quanto as comidas típicas da região sul, as mais tradicionais são o churrasco e o famoso Chimarrão (ou mate, que é uma bebida característica da cultura do sul, herdada pelas culturas indígenas caingangue, guarani, aimará e quíchua).
Os gaúchos, como são chamadas as pessoas nascidas no sul, também têm seu vocabulário específico. É comum encontrarmos moradores falando TCHÊ ( interjeição que se encaixa em praticamente qualquer frase ou situação), TRI ( prefixo que significa "muito" (ex.: tri legal, tri bonita), ou simplesmente "legal" (ex.: é tri), GURI e GURIA (Menino e menina), entre outros.
